The Global North Pointer

A North Point alumni that could spread its wings globally had always been the vision of Fr. Van Walleghem. When in 2003 at our second global reunion in Hua Hun, Thailand, he voiced his aspirations, many eyes opened wide that spurred a flurry of thoughts. At subsequent discussions Fr. Van had with the alumni, many agreed this needed to be done.

Fr. Van took action and with the Provincial’s blessings embarked on a series of overseas trips. A least twice around the globe his quest to meet and roundt up various alumni spread across the world began taking shape. From New belhi Dubai, Cairo, Milan, Geneva, Bonn, Stockholm, London, Dublin, New York, Toronto, Vancouver,

Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, Calcutta, Kathmandu and back to Darjeeling and Gangtok, alumni rallied behind him. You will see we really are a global community with shared values derived from the sombre hallways of our school, the magnificence of our quadrangle, the absorbing depth of our UD field and the glory of our twin towers. No matter where you are, we are connected. Let us stay that way!
