Born in 1937 , Manuel Coutinho is still remembered for getting three double promotion during his school days. On completing school he had secured admission to IIT Kharagpur and a number of other engineering college. 

Ft. Stanford SJ, Principal of NP requested Manuel to teach English at school. He returned to NP again, this time as a appointed teacher and for the next 38 years, Mr. Manuel worked tirelessly without a break in his career of teaching , he holds and unbeaten record of having taken only 3 days leave.

Mr Manuel was at NP from 1960-1999. From 1999-2007 he taught English at Mt. Hermon. In 2008 he came back to NP on the request of Fr. Kinley Tshering SJ., who was Mr Manuel ‘s student when he was a school boy. 

Mr. Maneul says his blood group is NP plus . He has been awarded Magis Gold Medal 2023 for this life long sacrifice towards his home in the mountains with such dedication and NP spirit. SURSUM CORDA
