REMEMBRANCES
Message from Rashida Erskine (rashidaerskine@gmail.com), Toronto, Loreto alumnus 1961 batch received on May 01, 2025
Gillian’s son, Ian, informed that Mr. Chun passed away this morning. Rashida quoted, “I had a feeling he would not last long after Gillian died. Two beautiful souls leaving us within days of each other … at least we can take comfort in the fact that they are together again. CM – It was good that you were able to see him a few days ago and brighten his day!”

Chun attended at least five of our past 10 global reunions. He lived in Sydney and met his second wife, Gillian Burch, Loreto batch of 1960 at our first reunion in Hua Hin in 2003. They fell in love. Chun moved to New Hampshire to be with Gillian about a decade ago and they soon got married. Gillian had passed away a few months ago and this must have broken him.

There are a few other North Point-Loreto romances leading to a union of marriage………..interesting ones……
CM Cho batch of 1965 who lives south of Boston on hearing that Chun was not well went to see him exactly a week before and wrote this, “We had a nice and enjoyable visit. Chun had tears in his eyes several times and he did recognize me. I am not sure how much but at least he did. When I told the nurse that we are North Pointers, there were tears of recognition in Chun’s eyes.”
Benji,
It’s so sad that we lost both Gillian and Chun within a month of each other. May they both travel the Heavens together. Much love dear friends. Stay safe.

So sad to hear of the passing of Chun and Gillian. We had many cherished memories together during some of our North Point Reunions, especially in Hua Hin and Myanmar. I had the privilege of attending their happy wedding in Washington ,DC. May they rest in God’s eternal peace.
Chun and Gillian Burch were truly a match made in Heaven! They were such a lovely, positive, upbeat couple! Chun’s favourite line was: “Life is good”, and soon after they met, Gillian started saying it too! They were married only about ten years but so in love they couldn’t live without each other – Gillian passed away on April 4 and Chun, barely a month later on April 30! The two families and we, their friends, can take comfort in knowing they are together again, reunited and happy!
God rest his soul. He and Gillian were good company at our global reunions and Chun came across as a North Pointer through and through. As he travels into the next world, I’m sure he goes in search of Gillian. Thankfully he did not have too long on his own.
Very sorry to hear of Chun’s demise
I remember him well from the reunions and found him very cheerful and nice to talk to.
