Dear All:
I am extremely pleased to inform you that I
have received an e-mail from Fr. Kinley, who is the present Rector
at North Point, in which he extended his "warm and generous WELCOME"
to all of us. He has confirmed the dates, arriving in Darjeeling on
October 4th and departing on October 9th for our Class of '65
Reunion!
He happened to be making the "calendar
of events" for the school this year so he mentioned that on that
week, Sports Day will be on Oct. 7th and Rector's Day will be
on Oct. 8th. We are all invited for the Sports Day! In my reply
e-mail, I thanked him and told him that we will be glad to attend
the Sports Day only as spectators and that would be very strange for
many of us athletes, for once on the Sports Day at NP, we are not
participants but are there to "watch" the events.
I also told him that we shall be at the
Rector's Day celebrations but that both Fr. Kinley and Fr. Van (we
pray that you will be there in Darjeeling then), are invited to our
Farewell Dinner that evening.
The next day, we plan to depart for Bhutan.
Between now and October, I am sure we shall be communicating with
our dear friend Om, who can best advise and assist us in our Bhutan
Visit!!!
I shall be getting in touch with Diamond Oberoi
for our hotel reservations. Meantime, we need all your input for
our adgenda and the venue that we should have. Once again I do want
Om to chime in with all his great ideas like a side trip to Gangtok
and Kalimpong! Tiger Hill trip to see the sunrise? Shall we hike
it or take a cab? I know some of you wanted to go and climb Monkey
Rock!!! But I must remind you that you are 45 years older and that
puts you at what age??? A picnic at Teesta, anyone?
I am awaiting your response and your input.
Looking forward to seeing all of you, your spouses, your children
and your friends!!! Hope you are bringing them all!!!
SURSUM CORDA!!!!...........We all are returning
to our home in the mountains!!!
Warmest regards,
Tony (San Tut)
